Siwek joins VDR as Development Rider
Whyalla local Daniel Siwek has joined the Van D’am squad for 2018 as our first development rider for the year. Hopeful for a spot studying accounting at the University of South Australia next year, Siwek demonstrates the qualities set out for the team.
Development is a key part to the Van D’am ethos and with an eye to nurture the local talent both on and off the bike, director Lachie Ambrose believes it is the correct move bringing in the powerful young rider.
Daniel is an untapped talent. He’s had very respectable results for someone of his experience. With access to more racing and a better training environment he’ll really excell in 2018.”
Taking up cycling in 2014, Siwek quickly progressed through the country ranks of Whyalla capping off his impressive progress with a fourth at the U19 State Road Race Championships.
The young climber is looking forward to the new experience and keen to see how much he can develop as a rider and an individual under the watchful eye of Ambrose.
I’m super excited to be joining Van D’am as a development rider in 2018. Being able to access the support strucutres, the team environment, and opportunties will really allow me to develop as a rider and as a person.”
Stay tuned for one more exciting rider announcement as well as some big equipment news in the next couple days!
